In Paris-Saclay, TotalEnergies is setting-up teams innovation & research teamps dedicated to carbon-free energy. They embody the Compagny commitment to a global carbon-neutral energy future (Net Zero). Integrated into the Paris-Saclay ecosystem, they aim to invent, develop and experiment with the energy solutions of tomorrow.

 

Renewable energy

Developing, demonstrating and managing production and storage systems for low-carbon electricity (solar, wind, hydrogen, batteries etc.). Interconnecting them to ecosystems interfacing with the electricity grid, with a focus on understanding, developing, optimizing and managing technology bricks for production and storage.

 

Smart energy

Developing, demonstrating and managing technological solutions for energy management and distribution. Creating solutions to optimize customer-focused and energy efficiency services for networks, local services and smart buildings.

 

Transportation

Over the past 50 years, the transportation sector has seen unprecedented transformation. As electric cars and vehicles powered by gas or hydrogen are being developed, the goal is to reduce the overall environmental footprint of transportation solutions, promoting their optimization while taking new consumer usages into account.

 

Carbon Cycle

Taking action throughout the entire carbon cycle, from production to the use of energy products. Performing more accurate measurements to eliminate the source of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, methane etc.). Capturing carbon to utilise or store (CCUS) and developing natural carbon sinks (NBS) such as forests, regenerative agriculture and wetlands. Including biosourced energy products (biogas etc.) in the offering.

 

Artificial intelligence and quantum computing

Exploring the next generations of calculation technology for effective digital simulations and AI applications. Developing innovative and cost-effective algorithms to calculate better and faster, at a lower cost and with great reliability to support the TotalEnergies Group’s future activities.
